MAIN PROPERTIES

Digestive: Believed to aid digestion, relieve stomach cramps, and boost metabolism.

Respiratory: Can be used (often inhaled) to relieve coughs and congestion.

Toxicity: Ingesting camphor in large quantities is dangerous and can cause nausea, vomiting, convulsions, and even death. Only white camphor oil is considered safe for such use. Brown and yellow oils are carcinogenic.

COOKING & CONFECTIONERY

Sweet flavoring: Used in traditional Indian sweets (e.g. laddoo, barfi, payasam) to provide a distinct, refreshing aroma.

Rice flavoring: Added to dishes such as "sweet pongal" or "curd rice".

Food preservation: Due to its antibacterial and antifungal properties, it acts as a natural preservative in certain types of confectionery.

DIRECTIONS & PRECAUTIONS

Not to be used in children under 2 years of age (risk of convulsions).

Avoid by pregnant women, nursing mothers and people with epilepsy, asthma or liver disease.
